A repeat of yesterday's incredible tuna blitz today was not. It could have been great had a little luck gone our way early, but the fish didn't stick around. We hit Stellwagen Bank early, finding lots of breaking, leaping tuna. They were very spread out and there was very little bait. We had a hit within a half hour, but it missed the tunaCandy. It was exciting. There were big fish all around.
We ran around a lot after that, hoping to find yesterday's mega-schools of breaking fish. We didn't. We found more of the same, fish here and there, up for 30 seconds in one spot. Bob did hook up, though, and fought the fish perfectly for a couple of minutes before the fish threw the hook. I hate seeing that happen.
The rest of the day was a lot of running around. Lots. We covered the map today. We landed a few big stripers in our travels, but they were all outside the 3 mile mark, so they went back into the water. Bummer. Perfect weather, but I'll take crazy biting fish anyday! Good people; great fishermen, and excellent company for the day.

Black Rose Fishing Charters specializes in small, private fishing charters. Our rates are very affordable and it is much easier to put together a smaller charter. We are based in Green Harbor, but we fish all of Cape Cod, Massachusetts Bay, Plymouth Bay, and Buzzards Bay. We target all species of fish, depending on season. We fish for "groundfish", which means cod, haddock, pollack, wolf fish, cusk, hake, halibut, and redfish. We would fish for sharks every day if we could and we catch blue sharks, makos, threshers, and porbeagles. We love it. Because of the design of our boat, we can have 4 people casting at one time very easily. We love fishing for bluefin tuna (casting, jigging, and trolling), striped bass, and bluefish. We have a fast boat, full cabin, and comfortable ride. See you out there!
