Weather today ranked a 10. Usually, when I start talking about the weather....this time, the fishing was incredible! We found the haddock and we just kept on them. I loved it. Of course, we started the day looking for tuna....not going to happen in a casual manner. The fog was too thick. It was pea soup.
We did, however, in our travels, come across a nice pod of feeding tuna and we had 10 minutes of awesome chances. We cast into the fog, not even seeing our lures land. We heard splashes all around us and saw tuna here and there. But...no tuna. All in all, we landed 50-60 haddock and the fillets mounted up nicely in the ice chest. What a day!
Getting ready for the Oak Bluffs Monster Shark tourney. Today was good....using the cod tackle again from Okuma..the Red Isis was a blast, even in 270' of water. We used the Stingo-Fish PBJ jigs (7 and 10 oz) and the haddock loved the. Yes, haddock on jigs. See you out there, Rich 508-269-1882
Black Rose Fishing Charters specializes in small, private fishing charters. Our rates are very affordable and it is much easier to put together a smaller charter. We are based in Green Harbor, but we fish all of Cape Cod, Massachusetts Bay, Plymouth Bay, and Buzzards Bay. We target all species of fish, depending on season. We fish for "groundfish", which means cod, haddock, pollack, wolf fish, cusk, hake, halibut, and redfish. We would fish for sharks every day if we could and we catch blue sharks, makos, threshers, and porbeagles. We love it. Because of the design of our boat, we can have 4 people casting at one time very easily. We love fishing for bluefin tuna (casting, jigging, and trolling), striped bass, and bluefish. We have a fast boat, full cabin, and comfortable ride. See you out there!
