Cod fishing again! I missed it. The weatherman was wrong in the morning. It was NASTY out there and the current was cranking. We had difficulty holding bottom with 32 oz of lead. That's no fun. But, on the bright side, the haddock loved our offerings. I mean, 3 guys fishing and about 40+ haddock. Not bad.
It's good to get back into the cod game. The tuna and stripers have been a blast, but it's also good to get back to my roots. With the haddock biting like that, it made sense to stay on them all day. If it hadn't have been so good, I would have tried other places for cod as well. But, 40+ haddock in a 2kt drift....not bad!

Black Rose Fishing Charters specializes in small, private fishing charters. Our rates are very affordable and it is much easier to put together a smaller charter. We are based in Green Harbor, but we fish all of Cape Cod, Massachusetts Bay, Plymouth Bay, and Buzzards Bay. We target all species of fish, depending on season. We fish for "groundfish", which means cod, haddock, pollack, wolf fish, cusk, hake, halibut, and redfish. We would fish for sharks every day if we could and we catch blue sharks, makos, threshers, and porbeagles. We love it. Because of the design of our boat, we can have 4 people casting at one time very easily. We love fishing for bluefin tuna (casting, jigging, and trolling), striped bass, and bluefish. We have a fast boat, full cabin, and comfortable ride. See you out there!
