Here's one for the books---a 6 hour striper/cod trip. We had amazing weather today, so we took advantage of it. Never seen whales? Yep. So we had a giant humpback whale splash feeding today. It was slapping its tail on top of a school of sandeels, then coming up and sucking down all of the stunned fish. It was incredible and happened only 30 yards from our boat. Awesome.
Stephen got the largest wolf fish in a while; what a battle. Stripers, blues, cod, haddock, wolf fish, sculpin, and dogfish. What a mixed bag of fish. Nice experience on the water. I really enjoyed today.
Once again, time to stock up on TunaCandy. They work. They don't cost a lot. They're easy to use. People are even making bars out of them. They're that effective. 66" tuna on one on Saturday. Black Rose Fishing Charters specializes in small, private fishing charters. Our rates are very affordable and it is much easier to put together a smaller charter. We are based in Green Harbor, but we fish all of Cape Cod, Massachusetts Bay, Plymouth Bay, and Buzzards Bay. We target all species of fish, depending on season. We fish for "groundfish", which means cod, haddock, pollack, wolf fish, cusk, hake, halibut, and redfish. We would fish for sharks every day if we could and we catch blue sharks, makos, threshers, and porbeagles. We love it. Because of the design of our boat, we can have 4 people casting at one time very easily. We love fishing for bluefin tuna (casting, jigging, and trolling), striped bass, and bluefish. We have a fast boat, full cabin, and comfortable ride. See you out there!
