Tuna's pulled a no-show today again, for us. But...but it was ok...we had a personal day today with my friend and his two kids. It was amazing, though...the striper and blue fishing we experienced. We caught more fish than ever and enjoyed every moment of it. It was great seeing the kids catching stripers to 20+ pounds (we adults got them to 35 pounds). Real beasts. With a weather warning, we left our primary fishing spot to head home, but we stopped at another tuna spot along the way (and closer home).

At this spot, we marked some good fish, saw a couple of big tuna swirling, and had a blast casting at them. Close, but fun anyways. The big news..

THRESHER SHARK MAULING BLUEFISH BLITZ!!! Yes, I've never seen it before, but seeing that shark ball up the blues and knock them all over the place with it's huge tail was something else! I mean, blues were getting blown 8' out of the water upside down, sideways, backwards. It was violent! Before you could say "huh?", Joel had a bluefish filleted and we had the fillets on Okuma Titus Gold 50's and we had the boat positioned over the last boil. It wasn't to be, but that's ok. We chummed for 30 minutes before heading home. Damn exciting!

Smart move getting closer to home with impending weather. Another day on the water!!! Think about getting out there in the next couple of weeks! The striper fishing can't hold out like this forever! It's amazing now. Better than ever before. I still can't believe the number of fish. Capt. Rich Antonino, Black Rose Fishing Charters, 508-269-1882

Black Rose Fishing Charters specializes in small, private fishing charters. Our rates are very affordable and it is much easier to put together a smaller charter. We are based in Green Harbor, but we fish all of Cape Cod, Massachusetts Bay, Plymouth Bay, and Buzzards Bay. We target all species of fish, depending on season. We fish for "groundfish", which means cod, haddock, pollack, wolf fish, cusk, hake, halibut, and redfish. We would fish for sharks every day if we could and we catch blue sharks, makos, threshers, and porbeagles. We love it. Because of the design of our boat, we can have 4 people casting at one time very easily. We love fishing for bluefin tuna (casting, jigging, and trolling), striped bass, and bluefish. We have a fast boat, full cabin, and comfortable ride. See you out there!
