Thresher sharks are the most interesting fish that we fish for on the Black Rose. Why? Well, an 8' shark may have an 8' long tail as well!!! That's an amazing sight. They make great eating, they use that huge tail to fight long and strong and are even known to jump completely out of the water when hooked. Like the mako, they can be caught while trolling.
These sharks are more common in the waters south of Cape Cod. While we do have our boat on a slip in Green Harbor, I do run my shark trips in those waters during June and July. Those months are especially productive for shark fishing in Massachusetts. There is a reason that the Oak Bluffs Monster Shark Tournament takes place in July every year!!
If you are interested in tournament fishing, our boat is a perfect vessel for you. Give us a call.
