Gift Certificates
This may sound like a sexist comment, but women give such better gifts than men! Guys may just go, last minute, to the jeweler and that's it for forethought. Women, however, often plan for months and even coordinate others to join the bandwagon.
My wife has always thought of great gift ideas for me and I realize that
she is not alone! I get many calls from women looking to give their special man a
day of fishing. That's a great gift and a great surprise!
Some come fishing with them (which is great from the guy's perspective; I've always loved sharing my
experiences at sea with my wife) while others turned it into a "guys day out."
Either way, I think that it's a great idea.
For those who plan on making it a 'guys day out', it's a great alternative to the golf course or a Red Sox/Patriots game. And definitely to those NY teams. To coordinate an event like a surprise fishing trip, my boat is great because it is easier to coordinate 1-4 people than it is to get 5 or 6 people to agree on anything.
