2015 Year in Review

Wow, another year under my belt, and I’m back trailering again.  The govt took away our cod fishery, so I decided to leave Green Harbor and trailer to the fish.  What a great idea!  I had an amazing spring with trips into Buzzards Bay for black sea bass.  That fishery rocked.  Most of the fish we caught were 3-5# males (kept..we caught [...]

May 8 Pollock Slam

fighting a pollock
What can I say?  We kept more than 100 pollock!  It was unreal fishing today.  Every drop was a fish.  I got the electric reel going, and that was awesome to see working again.  We lost a big porbeagle on the first drift of the day.  So cool to see them chasing fish to the surface.   It wrecked a red fish! Pollock and Shark on May 9

Gelu and a porbeagle
Ok, I’m getting back into the swing of things after trips on Friday and Saturday. Friday’s trip was just plain insane with the numbers of fish. We just hit everything right. We had a slow drift, so when I was able to find schools of fish, we were able to pound them. The key was finding schools of keeper fish, which 100+ fish later [...]

In our second trip of the year, I had two customers on a shared charter, so I brought little Richie.  He’s not that small anymore!  A 16 pound growth spurt over the past year and he’s a solid little boy.  This will be year number one of him mating for me on certain trips.  For this day..he was all fishing and entertainment!  He go [...]

pollock fishing is on fire and the tu...

Great pollock
Pollock fishing….there is nothing quite like catching fish until your arms are aching! Combine that with the chance at tuna from May-December and always the chance that sharks are around….In the colder months, we get porbeagle sharks around the boat and makos, threshers, and blues are added to the menu during the rest of the year. [...]

Tuna Fishing Today…

Honeymoon sharking
Yes, I’m going out this afternoon to see if we can’t get ourselves into a giant tuna.  With nothing on tap for trips today and tomorrow…I’m giving it hell tonight from 4-dark…then, rather than come home for a few hours, we’ll just hang out until first light to give it a try again.  Why not?  I haven’t [...]

Savage Gear Striper-Athon 2014!

Savage Gear Striper-Athon
How amazing can fishing be?  Well, we found out.  We had fish breaking around the boat for 5 hours on this day.  I mean, we kept our 10 keepers and released about 60 stripers from 15-25 pounds.  Almost every fish was caught on soft plastics…using Savage Gear Sandeels and Herring imitations.  They got slammed.  Chartrouse was the best co [...]

Savage Gear Striper-Athon–2013

Okuma Fishing
More to follow….fish didn’t get the invite. …they will soon!  This footage is from last year…Yes, I love striper fishing!  I love the excitement of seeing fish raging like it’s their last meal.  We are lucky to have some amazing fishing that is predictable at certain times of the year.  Fish with us in the late s [...]

More scup(porgy) fishing in Buzzards ...

buzzards bay fishing
Much slower than yesterday, but we did have a big storm push through last night with amazingly high pressure today.  The fish we got, though, were very big.  Still a blast.  We traveled a bit running around looking.  I know we weren’t alone; I saw many boats jockeying around all day.    Great crew and lots of fun.  You know when you hav [...]
